Thats when I find myself challenged the most - managing energy for instance do I spend that energy Ive been hoarding to pull off some kills, or hold in reserve for cc for that crucial breathing room needed to revive a downed player, especially when its his last revive or its the hard carry thats been doing the heavy lifting. For me, that sweet spot shows up more often than not squaring off on the third level of the sorties when everyone, or most everyone, in the squad has to play their roles or we go belly up. I get where you're coming from, though I think its different for different people. but good/bad things in design? all secrets for some reason. technology wise the Industry is amazing though - ideas for cool tech that can make massive impacts on results are shared all the time. you'd think after doing it a few thousand times we'd learn, but no the Industry doesn't since nobody really communicates with each other. To which end you'd think that Video Games would have learned this by now but people almost entirely refuse to learn from the past of the Industry and almost every single game ever created has to battle with and try to come to understanding this same problem, over and over. it's just up to a Video Game to make the most efficient route an active one, rather than an idle one.Īnd if the most efficient way to play a Video Game, is to be AFK - then one being surprised that is the most common route, is simply naive. it is a part of human nature to seek out the most efficient route, and that isn't going to ever change. just if a game has that capability available, it is the most efficient way to play said game. People will kick and scream and say they like it that way. by definition if you are or could be AFK playing a game, something is wrong with the game. Other than the two raids that exist, these are mutually exclusive options as far as I can tell. TLDR You can choose engaging gameplay or efficient loot. If it comes at the cost of engaging gameplay, then it is a price that I cannot afford to pay. You can justify this if your enjoyment comes from unlocking new shinies as fast as possible, I suppose. It's very rare that more than one person has much to do up with and including sorties. You either hard carry a team or you get hard carried and the only engagement comes in seeing who can peg the enemies first. It is in this moment that you are so engaged with the gameplay that everything around the monitor becomes a blur as your brain goes into hyperdrive to focus on the task at hand.Īnd then you join a public game and suddenly none of that matters anymore. All of your practice in MR tests and hours of jumping through levels has culminated in this one package of personal meddle that pushes you to your limits. It is in this sweet spot that I find the game most engaging. There is a sweet spot in survival missions that is different for every frame/weapon combo. I'm constantly working out enemy placement and where to roll behind when things go sideways (which happens a lot, as I play off-meta loadouts most of the time in long endurance). In single player, I'm constantly thinking about my resources (health, energy). The biggest problem I have is that grouping with others inherently removes the part of the game that I find most enjoyable. Do you think this is a fair selling point? I sure do. Dodging, weaving, aiming, maneuvering yourself through hordes of nasties that only want to see you fail. The gunplay is stellar, the motion is fantastic. I have and will continue to support the developers, as Warframe is more than deserving of the love - but let's not let that jade our capacity for criticism or discount that everyone (even you!) has differing opinions on something sometimes. If there was any topic that has garnered confusion amongst players I encounter, its why I play solo most of the time. I'm now working toward the 500-hour mark. It feels like only yesterday that I made a post documenting my experiences as a new player going from zero to hero in a 300-hour progress report, having started shortly before the launch of the plains.
